Happy Birthday Alan!!

I can't believe that Alan is 26 years old! It seems just yesterday he was that adorable 18 year old boy that swept me off my feet! Lucky for him his birthday was on a Saturday, which meant no school and we could party all day long! We woke up and Madi and I made Alan a delicious breakfast and then he opened his present from me and his parents that they shipped to us. I gave him the new NCAA football game which he was very eager to play and played all morning. We then got ready for the day and went to the golf course so Alan could try out his new golf driver my parents got him while they were in town. He loved it and looked pretty good. We then went to the airport and picked up my sister! We then headed to Texas Roadhouse for dinner which was AMAZING!!

Pretty embarrassed with me and my sister singing to him with our horrible singing voices
Happy Birthday babe! So happy you were born and we got to celebrate this wonderful day with you! Love you! 26 will be a great year!

Family Visit #1

Last week my parents left from a very fun filled 10 day visit! It was so amazing. Being away from home is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. We both miss our families so much and just wish we could see them whenever we want but that is not the case anymore. We were so glad that my parents were able to come and spend some time with us. I feel so blessed that I had that opportunity. We got to spend more time together than we would have if I lived at home, it was the best!

It was so fun to watch Madi with her Grandparents. They spoiled her with so much love and attention. She was in heaven. Instead of two people she had four. It was so fun to show my parents all the new things she can do since they had last seen her. We skype all the time and it is amazing but there is nothing like seeing it in person.

While they were here we did so many fun things and actually got to explore where we live. I must say we live in a pretty cool place. We went to some amazing beaches, ate at some fabulous restaurants, shopped, had my mom's home cooking, and of course most importantly spent a lot of time together!

I let my Dad wake Madi up from her nap when they first arrived, she was a little shocked.

It was so fun to have my parents here and show them our new life in Florida but it was hard to say goodbye.  This weekend we will be having our second visitor, my sissy! At the end of this month we will also get to see Alan's parents! Hooray for visitors!

Thanks Mom and Dad for a wonderful time and all you do for us! We can't wait to have you back, but this time you aren't allowed to leave ;)

Blah...

Today has been a hard day.
The house is an absolute disaster and I have no motivation to clean.
The pile of Laundry is the size of a mountain.
Madeline refuses to let me put her down and won't stop fussing.
My parents left yesterday and has definitely put Madi and I in a funk.
Today is Blah......

On the bright side tomorrow is Friday and on Saturday my sissy will he here!! Things are looking up!

Sorry I just had to vent!

9 Months

Getting a picture of her holding still is very difficult lately!

I can't believe Miss Madeline turned 9 months old a few days ago. It seems like just yesterday she was still in my tummy. I don't know what is harder for me the fact that she is 9 months old and always on the go or the fact that in 3 short months she will be a year old. Words cannot describe how precious this little girl is. She is so sweet and cute but she is also so curious and into everything, and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING! She definitely keeps us on our toes! She loves to explore the world and around her. She is very methodical and strategic when she moves and always thinks things through.

Here are some things that Madeline does at 9 months:

  • She loves to laugh. Sometimes She will start hysterically laughing out of nowhere.
  • She has started to point. It will be at something she wants or at people's faces. She also just likes to point for fun!
  • She has gotten really good at picking up finger foods. She is still sometimes unsure about the texture and if she likes it.
  • She has no teeth yet!
  • She loves to talk and babble. She says things like Da da, La La, and Ya ya.
  • She loves to dance. She likes to bounce up and down.
  • She has gotten so good and crawling!
  • She pulls herself up onto the furniture and is getting stronger and faster at it. Her favorite place is the T.V. stand, she tries to crawl up into the shelves.
  • She is starting to cruise along the furniture. It terrifies me!
  • She is growing out of her "baby" toys and wanting to play with things more advance.
  • She gets into everything, you name it and she finds it. She is so tiny that she can fit into the tiniest little spaces. She is very sneaky.
  • She is a great baby. While my parents were here she missed a lot of naps and was happy to go along for the ride and was hardly ever cranky. We took her everywhere, even restaurants and she was so well behaved.
  • She is so good at just going with the flow. We love it!
  • She does have a little bit of a feisty personality. She has a good set of lungs and is not afraid to use them. But she recovers quickly and moves on to the next thing.
  • She loves the beach. She crawls in the sand. She loves to pick it up and get it everywhere. She has just discovered seashells and loves to put them in her mouth. She loves the ocean, she loves to just sit in the surf and let the little waves hit her.
These are just a few things, I could seriously sit here all day and write about all the adorable things she does but instead I am going to go play with her.

Madeline we love you! Thank you for bringing such joy to our lives every single day!
