5 months old

Miss Madeline turned 5 months old on Tuesday. I can't believe how fast she is growing up and how much she changes from month to month. It is such a joy to watch her grow and discover new things. I wish time would slow down a bit, I feel like the last 5 months have flown by with a blink of an eye. Our time with her is so precious and we absolutely adore her!

Here are some things Madeline does at 5 months:

  • She loves to smile and giggle. Every time I hear her sweet little giggle it makes my heart burst into a million pieces.
  • She is so loud. She loves to babble and scream. She has just discovered that she can also scream really loud while crying.
  • She loves to suck and chew on everything.
  • Her favorite toy is Sophie. She loves to chew and suck on the squeaky Giraffe. We can't leave the house with it.
  • She likes to chew on her paci, she has also learned how to pull it out of her mouth and throw it across the room but she loves it at nap time and while going to sleep.
  • She loves to pick up her toys and hold them all by herself. She is such a big girl now.
  • She always gives Alan the biggest smile when he gets home from work. It melts my heart.
  • She loves to touch your face, she reaches up to grabs your lips or your nose or just to give you a little love.
  • She has rolled over a few times but hasn't really figured it out. She is trying more now to roll from her back to her tummy.
  • She still HATES tummy time. It is so hard because all she does is scream.
  • She loves to stand, she is no longer content just sitting in your lap she wants to stand.
  • She loves to sit up in her bumbo or on the couch
  • She loves to hold your finger and has the tightest grip ever.
  • She loves to drool and blow spit bubbles.
Oh how we love this little girl. She amazes me each and everyday. I love how perfectly she fits into our lives and completes our family. I just can't get enough of her! We love you Madi!

My First Mother's Day!

Being a Mom is truly one of the greatest blessings you can have in this life. It is nothing like I thought it would be..It is a million times better. I had no idea that I could love something so much, I had no idea I could learn how to be so selfless and completely forget about my needs and put my daughter before anything else. I was not prepared to have my heart melt a thousand times a day whenever she smiles at me, or giggles, reaches up to grab my face, or squeezes my finger. I love Madeline so much and being her Mother is the most amazing thing in this whole world.

I had a fantastic first Mother's day ever! Alan was so great all day and made me feel special. He made a delicious breakfast. Alan and Madeline made me an adorable gift. He made me her footprint and had it framed with an adorable picture of her next to it. It was truly precious!

We had my family over for a Mother's day dinner. My sister and I made dinner and Alan and Jon BBQ for us. We had a fantastic dinner and enjoyed spending time together. My mom does so much for everyone and is truly super mom. She does it all. She is the best example to me and I hope some day I can be half the mom she is. She is also a wonderful Grandmother and Madeline absolutely adores her. I love you Mom! I hope you had a relaxing day and you know how much we all appreciate the things you do for us!

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

Weekend Trip to St. George

Last weekend we took a little trip down to St. George with the Cash Family. It was one of our last family trips before we move down to Florida. The weather was so warm and beautiful. We had so much fun on this trip. Alan and I were really worried about how Madeline was going to do in the car ride down there, but as always she shocked us and did fantastic. She was so excited to be in the car and be able to see me and Alan in the back seat that she only slept for like 30 mins! It was amazing! We had such a fun time enjoying delicious food, swimming, golfing, hiking, warm weather, and most importantly good company!

Here are so pictures from our trip:

Madeline in the car on the way down, just taking a little snooze...
Finally made it! She sat on the couch while we unpacked!
 Golfing with the handsome hubby!
My dad and his two favorite daughters!
Grandma was nice enough to babysit so I could golf! Happy Girl!
Family hike up at Snow Canyon
My mom, me, and my sister on our hike that was 100 degrees
 Ready for her first swim!
She loved it! It was like a giant bath tub!
