Warning: This is a long post with a lot of pictures
We were lucky enough to be able to spend Christmas with our families back in Utah. We were so excited to go somewhere cold for the winter and especially excited to see everyone! We decided to fly out of Orlando because you can take a direct flight to SLC. Even though we had to travel and extra hour and half, it was so worth it! Although when we were minutes from Orlando we got a call saying our flight was delayed about 2 hours. I was so mad! We left Florida a lot later than expected but we were thinking it would be okay and Madeline would just sleep on the flight.....Well we were very wrong she didn't even close her eyes. We would try to lay her down and she would just freak out so we stopped trying. By the time we got to Salt Lake she was exhausted (so were we) and it was like 1:00am East coast time. But we finally made it!
| My family surprised us by coming into the airport! My sister made this cute sign for us! |
The next day we had a small birthday party for Madeline with my side of the family! I was worried she was going to be overwhelmed but she was the complete opposite! She was soaking up all the attention and showing off for everyone!

Over the next few days we enjoyed doing some down time before Christmas. We went to Temple Square to see the lights. My mom and I made some Christmas candy. Alan and I had to do about a months worth of Christmas shopping in one day and it was stressful but we did it!

Next we Celebrated Christmas Eve. We had dinner with the Sevy's which was wonderful as always! Then we got to see Santa. After Santa left we headed downtown the the Cathedral of Madeleine for Christmas mass with some of my family! We then went to my Aunts house and had another wonderful dinner and opened presents!

Christmas day was busy as always. Madeline was so tired that we actually had to wake her up! It was 10am! We looked at what Santa brought for us and then opened presents with my family then headed over to the Sevy's. It was so fun to open presents with everyone! We were so spoiled by both of our families! It was such a wonderful day!

We dressed up dorky for the Holidays which is always fun! We spent New Years with the Sevy's at a hotel. We went out for pizza went swimming and played games in our pajamas. It was so much fun! We also celebrated my mom's birthday. Madeline went on her first sledding adventure. We also caught up with our friends and ate at several of our favorite local restaurants. It was a great week!

We had such an amazing time with our families! I cried the whole way through airport security and as we were taking off. I thought over time it would get easier to say goodbye to our families, but it doesn't. It was just as hard as the first time. Living away from family has taught me to really cherish our time together. So we do! It was an amazing trip. We had so much seeing everyone and catching up! We can't wait to go back in May!
