San Diego 2009

Ever summer my family goes to California and this year Alan and I were lucky enough that we got to go with them! My parents had an awesome beach house in Mission Beach and it was right on the beach just a few steps from the sand. It was so cool to be so close to the beach and we had an awesome view! We spent most of our time playing at the beach. We became pros at smash ball. We played in the sand and built probably the best sand castle that has ever been built. Jon my brother in law dug a huge hole that could fit four of us in it. It was huge and pretty cool. We also played in the ocean and boogie boarded the water was pretty warm. Alan rented a surf board one day for a couple hours and looked like such a stud!! My family rented bikes for the week and that is how we got around every where and it definitely beat finding a parking spot! My goal while we were in San Diego was to find as many sand dollars as I could. Alan being the wonderful husband he is woke up at 6 a.m. one morning to find me some. He was successful and came back with several. I was so excited but i was determined to find some on my own because they are so hard to find and it is like finding gold when you find one. I had no luck until the last day we were there I found two which isn't as exciting as Alan's five or six but I was excited! We ate some great food, had fun in the sun, and spent some great time with family. It was such a fun trip and we are so lucky we got to go to the beach twice in one summer! It was awesome and we loved it! Thanks Mom, Dad, Nicole, and Jon for a great trip we can't wait for the next one!!!

The hole was big enough to fit the four of us!

We buried Jon and Alan in the sand. We must of done

  1. Awesome pictures. I love the story about the sand dollars. Lucky you! Alan, do you actually know how to surf? I don't think I knew that!
