In August Alan and I went on our "Babymoon" trip. Since we have been married, we talked about how fun it would be to do a road trip to San Francisco. We had this trip planned before we knew we were expecting but it was a great time for us to spend some last "just the two of us" time. We left early on a Saturday morning and headed to Reno.
We had a fun time walking around and exploring the biggest little city in the world and putting a few bucks down on a table. This was one of our longest drives and we were pretty exhausted. It is a little embarrassing but we went to our room for a minute to relax and we both passed out and woke up at like 2 in the morning. We went back to sleep and woke up early the next morning and grabbed some breakfast and headed to San Francisco.
We only spent 2 days in San Francisco so we had a lot to do in little time. We went on a tour to see Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate Bridge. We went to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Warf. We took a short drive down Lombard St. We drove across the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito, which was one of the cutest places I have ever been. We ate at the world famous House of Prime Rib- which was AMAZING!! We took a cable car to downtown and shopped til we dropped. There was a very strange man standing in front of me on the cable car and he did not understand personal space and that I did not speak Chinese. It was very uncomfortable. After San Francisco we headed to Newport Beach! (My Favorite place in the whole world!)
We spent two days at the beach! The weather was perfect, it was so nice! We put lots of sunscreen on because we knew I was going to be more sensitive to the sun but we didn't realize that meant every 5 minutes. I got very sunburned on my ankles!! It hurt! We enjoyed some lovely meals and a fun day of shopping. Alan had never really been to Newport so I was super excited to show him around and take him to all my favorite places. We will definitely be going back! After Newport we headed to Las Vegas.
We had a good time in Vegas! We stayed at the Mirage and it was so nice. The pool was fun and very crowded. Vegas in August is HOT!! We walked the strip at night and watched the Bellagio fountains. We also won some money!! The next day on our way to St. George we went to the Hoover Dam. I had never been and couldn't believe how breath taking it was. It was very cool to see. The last two days we stayed in St. George. We just relaxed, hung out at the pool, and shopped.
We had a fantastic trip! It was so fun to spend some time together and relax! Now we just have to wait for baby girl to come and we can start our new adventure as a family of 3! We can't wait!!
