Winter Break

We have been so busy this last month that we have had no time to do anything! Finally we had a day off today so we are able to get caught up on everything. Since winter break feels like it was forever ago I will just update you on the top highlights of the break.

We celebrated our first married Christmas together. We had such a fun Christmas together. We had a very busy day spending time with our families but it was so much fun and we loved it! We also had our first Christmas tree. It took forever to decorate but it was so fun and looked fantastic!

Alan built this awesome fire at my parents house on Christmas!
My mom makes this cake every Christmas and it is the best dessert in the whole world!! It is one of my favorites!

Over the break we also celebrated our six month wedding anniversary! I can't believe we have already been married for six months. Time just goes by so fast! Alan surprised me and took me to the Little America for the weekend. We stayed in the nicest room and it was huge! I felt like such a princess! We went swimming, we walked around temple square and looked at all the lights, got take out from the Olive Garden, and the next morning we went to the breakfast buffet and ate a lot of yummy food. It was such a nice relaxing mini vacation and it was a very special weekend.

My mom celebrated her BIG 5...0.. on January 1st. For valentines day last year Alan made me this wonderful picture blanket. It has all kinds of different pictures of us and it is on a quilt. My sister and I thought it would be really special to make my mom one for her birthday. It took a lot of hard work but it totally paid off it looked so awesome. We had a lot of help from Shayla and Margaret (Thanks!!! We could not have done it without you!!!) My mom loved it! I unfortunately don't have a picture of it. For her birthday we went skiing and just had a relaxing dinner with family and watched a movie. It was a fun day and I hope she had a memorable birthday!!!

We love you Mom!!! I hope you have a fantastic Year!!!
We did lots of fun things over winter break. We saw lots of movies (Avatar in 3D) which I highly recommend if you have not seen it. We spent a lot of time with friends, family, and each other!! We hope everyone had a great break and holiday as well!
